The active substance of this steroid is Stanozolol which is a a derivative of dihydrotestosterone. It is used to reduce frequency of sweating in individuals suffering from hereditary angiodema, prevents water retention in the body, increases the number of red cells in the body, improves muscle growth, bone density and stimulates appetite.

It is widely used by bodybuilders and in other sports. It has the ability to burn fat and helps increase muscle mass. Winstrol doesn't aromatise and rarely promotes water retention. Based on these two qualities the main phases of using this steroid in bodybuilding is preparation for a competition.

It is important to note that it doesn't have the same effect that is noticed with other anobolics, such as: breast enlargement in men and voice change in women, but this depends on the dosage.

Abuse of winstrol for a long time was associated with several side effects.
